Here you will find the rules, entry forms, and current schedule for the Texoma Exposition & Livestock Show.

General Exhibits


Here you will fine information related to the youth General Exhibits/Creative Arts show. This show is open to Grayson County students involved in 4-H, FFA and/or FCCLA. You must be an active member of one of those organizations to participate.

Divisions


Knives/Forging Division

Superintendents: David Montgomery

All entries should be clean and finished for display.  No outside assistance or work by anyone other than the student is allowed.  Adult supervision is always welcome and advised.  Must be a single person project.
Entry fee:  $3.00 per item

Art Division 100

Superintendents: Shauna Hale

All pictures must be presentation ready for hanging .  No saw-toothed hangers, gummed hangers, hot glue or tape.  Picture must be secure in frame.

NO GLASS ALLOWED

Clothing Division 200

Superintendents:  Mary Nan Story

All garments must be clean and must have been made within the past year solely by the entrant.  Garments must be free of rips and tears, in excellent wearing condition, and completely finished.  Garments must be entered on hangers.

Crafts Division 300

Crafts must be durable and sturdy enough for moving and hauling.

Food Division 400

Food Division 400:
Superintendents:  Nicole Douda-Hawkins, Martha Mears, Christi Crowe

  • Food must be exhibited with clear plastic wrap or clear disposable covers
  • INDIVIDUAL SERVING ITEMS MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST 12 NORMAL SIZE SERVINGS.
  • No colored plastic wrap or colored disposable covers.
  • No side items will be accepted with entries.
  • Items should be displayed in appropriately sized containers.
  • All entries must be homemade-A mix may be used if ingredients are added other than those required by the basic recipe.
  • All recipes must be submitted with online registration or registration will not be able to be completed. No copied and pasted recipes will be accepted.
  • All recipes must have DETAILED ingredients and full instructions to be eligible for entry.  All instructions MUST be written in the student’s own words.
  • Entries must NOT require refrigeration to maintain freshness.
  • No fresh fruit, perishable décor, Cool Whip, cheesecakes or whipped cream.
  • It is NOT recommended that the food items be eaten after the show.
  • All entries will be cut, tasted and judged on taste as well as appearance.  Canned foods will not be tasted.
  • Decorated cakes – may be made from a cake mix, however, decorated cakes will be cut, tasted and partial score will come from overall taste.
  • All recipes will be published in a cookbook with each entry’s name and club affiliation.  Cookbooks will be sold during the General Exhibits show.  Profit from the sale of cookbooks will be used to help sponsor scholarships.

DUE TO COPYRIGHT LAWS, ALL RECIPES MUST CITE A SOURCE.  RECIPES WITHOUT SOURCES WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE ANNUAL COOKBOOK PUBLISHED AND SOLD BY THE GENERAL EXHIBITS GROUP.

  • RECIPE YOU HAVE ADAPTED – “Recipe is inspired by. . . .”  Make sure the complete instructions are in your own words.
Needlework Division 500

Photography Division 600

Superintendents: Shirley Grantham , Glenda Coulson, Janette Bullard

All photographs must have been taken after February 15, 2019 and must be the original work of the entrant.  Photographs from the internet or photographs of another photograph are not acceptable.  Photographs must be presentation ready –securely mounted on sturdy backing, neatly matted or mounted edge-to-edge, with plastic hanger attached.  Photo prints may be 5 x 7 inches or 8 x 10 inches, with finished display being no larger than

11 x 14 inches, with no more than ¾ inch thickness.  There is a limit of 2 entries per student.  Photograph detail form must be completed as part of online entry.

NOTE;  NO prints on metal, glass, or wood are allowed. No glass or frames are allowed.  No date, time stamp, or name allowed on photo front.

**FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHY DIVISION ONLY - - Due to the high volume of entries, judging will begin at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25.  Entries will be accepted Tuesday from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm AND on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 10:00am.  Judging will resume on Wednesday at 10:30 am.  All photographs entered during the stated General Exhibits entry time will be judged.

Woodworking/Metal Combination Division 700

    Superintendent:  Symantha Murray

    Large items made from metal, wood or a combination that can not be classified in the Agriculture Mechanics Division.

    Must be a single person project, no group entries.

    Entry fee:  $3.00 per item

    • Wood furniture only-other than the hardware or trim
    • Metal furniture only-welded seams, no solder other than the hardware or trim
    • Metal & wood in any combination of furniture
    • Wood only decorative pieces-other than hardware or trim
